How is a morning show a church service?

Our main focus at JXN Cloud is to create community and we’ve found that talking-heads tend not to do that. So rather than preach a perfect message, we model community by allowing our morning show to present Biblical messages in a communal way.

How are you avoiding consumerism?

During the coronavirus quarantine, many churches went online and found their services being treated in consumeristic manners. Some watched the online Sunday service at their own convenience. Others binge-watched the services every few weeks. It’s true: Online church has a lot of faults. But as many have noted, “Online church is here to stay.” That being said, JXN Cloud recognizes there are faults in this avenue of church, but is working hard to help craft it into what it should be rather than let it continue to become consumeristic. This again, is a part of our focus on community. The more we are connecting with others, the less we can be about ourselves.

Can I submit a blog post for your webpage?

Absolutely! Having Cloudies be guest writers on our webpage is further how we create community at JXN Cloud. You can submit your post on our contact page. However, we would suggest you run a synopsis of your article by us before you write it as it both needs to fit our ethos as a church and our beliefs as a Free Methodist Church.

Do I have to live in Jackson, MI to join?

Nope! One of our leaders lives in Scotland! Being an online church, we are open to anyone who wants to join no matter where they live. However, being based out of Jackson, there will be plenty of references to themes that are relevant and important to our city and culture.

Do you guys have a musical worship time?

We love worship. In fact, two of our hosts are trained worship leaders who have been leading worship for many years. While we hope to offer unique moments of musical corporate worship via JXN Cloud, we will often need our congregants to make musical worship a discipline of spiritual formation in their everyday lives.

Will JXN Cloud ever become physical?

While we believe it’s incredibly important to gather physically as a body and all of our leaders do so at 1208 Greenwood Church, JXN Cloud is not a bait-and-switch. It wasn’t formed to be online for a time and then become physical after coronavirus calms down.
