What’s Up with Noah and Ham?

Perhaps you've read the story: Ham sees his dad Noah passed out drunk and naked in his tent and then Noah wakes up and curses his grandson for all eternity. Things certainly seems to escalate quickly in this story and it catches us off guard. Is that really all that's going on here?
