The Three-Tiered Cosmos of the Bible

When we think of the cosmos today, we think of us floating around on a giant sphere that's rotating and revolving around a bunch of other spheres throughout the universe. But ancient people had no such perception. For them the cosmos was separated into three tiers: heaven, earth, and under the earth.
